About the Ranch
2nd Breakfast Ranch is a small family homestead in Dairyland, Wisconsin built around the idea that animals — and people — do better in a calm environment.
What began as a few goats quickly became a daily rhythm: morning chores, pasture checks, watching herd dynamics, and learning that temperament matters just as much as appearance. We don’t rush growth, separate animals unnecessarily, or raise them in isolation. Life here is steady and predictable, and that consistency carries into the animals we place.
This isn’t a production farm.
It’s a place lived in every day.
Our Goats
We focus primarily on Myotonic (fainting) goats selected for hardiness, manageable size, and calm disposition.
Kids are handled daily, raised in a herd environment, and accustomed to normal farm activity — noises, people, dogs, and weather. Because of this, they transition more easily into new homes and tend to be confident rather than reactive.
Some goats are suitable as companions, while others may be offered with breeding rights depending on structure and long-term herd goals.
Our Approach
We match goats to homes rather than selling first-come, first-served. The right placement matters more than the speed of a sale.
Goats will not be placed into solitary living situations, and we are always happy to help new owners learn before bringing one home.
Our goal is simple: animals that leave here should settle successfully into their next herd.
The Name
The ranch name comes from the idea that the best parts of a day happen when you slow down enough to notice them — morning chores, coffee after feeding, quiet pasture evenings.
Life here tends to run on that schedule.

Looking Ahead
2nd Breakfast Ranch is still growing. Alongside raising goats, we are gradually building small agritourism experiences designed to let visitors spend quiet time in a real farm environment — not an attraction, but a place to slow down for a while.
We also plan to offer small-batch goat milk goods made from our own herd’s milk as they become available seasonally.
Like everything here, these additions will be introduced slowly and intentionally so the animals and the pace of the farm remain the priority.
